Happy Women’s History Month! This week’s #FridayFind is a 20th-century career woman.
According to the 1940 Federal Census (pictured above), Bernice Clark earned $780 (or $17,000 in today’s money) as an inspector for a uniform manufacturer. Not only did she earn 32% more than the median annual income for women at the time, but also more than any other member of her family, regardless of gender.
